The Secrets of Reinvention

An Action Blueprint to Restart, Rethink, and Rebuild Your Career

About the Author

Manas Kotrru's reinvention journey began long before he ever taught others how to rebuild their own pathways, because his early years carried the same patterns of misalignment, inner friction and quiet ambition that readers of this book have now learned to decode through the Restart, Rethink and Rebuild frameworks.

Growing up in Jammu and later studying in Delhi and Chandigarh, he was not someone who had everything figured out, but he did have a quiet sense of direction. He made mistakes, felt lost at times, and questioned his choices, like most people do. Still, over time, he began to notice a consistent mismatch between what he was doing and what he wanted to become. That is what slowly pulled him from mechanical engineering toward finance, not as a sudden leap, but as a more intentional shift once the pattern became hard to ignore.

After completing his MBA in finance, Manas began his career at IIMJobs.com, a SaaS based recruitment platform where he initially entered business development due to campus placement realities and soon transitioned into client relationship management and key account handling. This role placed him in direct conversations with CXOs, founders, CHROs and entrepreneurs, teaching him how senior decision makers think, how communication shapes opportunity, and how professionals can influence outcomes by presenting their work with clarity and presence. He gained an insider view of how the recruitment cycle works; how people get filtered, how labels get sold, how keywords catch attention and how the market reacts to positioning, proof, and communication, not just potential. Yet despite performing well, he experienced the deep internal tension between external success and inner misalignment, a tension that became one of the early seeds of the reinvention philosophy explored throughout this book.

Refusing to drift into a path that did not match his identity, Manas made a deliberate choice to shift back into finance. This targeted intervention opened the door to his first valuation role at KPMG, which became a turning point that validated a principle he teaches widely today: when clarity meets capability and is followed by decisive action, unconventional career switches become not only possible but predictable. From KPMG, he went on to RSM where he deepened his valuation expertise and formally began training analysts and seniors, discovering that his ability to simplify complex ideas and build structured learning paths had a direct and measurable impact on how professionals grew. His later years at Knowcraft Analytics expanded his exposure to AI driven workflows and analytical thinking, and his involvement with PwC later added further technical depth to his career.

Across these roles, Manas worked with 500+ professionals at different stages of their careers. Over time, he kept seeing the same problems again and again. Many people were capable and hardworking, but still felt stuck. Some had good degrees and skills, but did not know what direction to take next. Others had big goals, but no simple plan to move forward. And when they felt confused or lost, they did not know how to regain confidence and momentum.

Real stories shaped the thinking behind this book. For example, a mid level analyst had strong technical skills and good feedback at work, but he kept getting overlooked for growth roles because he could not explain his value clearly. Manas helped him convert his scattered work into a simple, measurable story: three strengths, two proof points, and one clear direction for the next 90 days. The analyst then ran a tight execution plan, tracked weekly progress, and within one quarter he improved visibility, took on a sharper scope, and moved into a better role path.

Experiences like these shaped the practical tools inside this book, built around clarity, execution, and momentum, so readers can move from confusion to a concrete plan and real progress.

Aim Fiinsight | The School of Financial Finesse emerged from this accumulation of experience, reflection and clarity. It brought together his aptitude for simplifying complex subjects, his passion for teaching, and his belief that professionals grow fastest when structure replaces confusion, and clarity replaces self-doubt.

Today, Manas trains professionals across India in financial modelling, advanced valuation, and career reinvention. Students know him for a practical, structured style that stays grounded in real life. He breaks big problems into clear steps, keeps the learning calm and methodical, and pushes people to execute with discipline, not just motivation.

This book comes from more than a decade of learning the hard way, testing what works, and rebuilding through real career transitions. It gives you a clear path from confusion to action, helping you spot what is keeping you stuck, make sharper choices, build skills that actually move your career, and keep momentum when life gets messy or confidence dips. This is not hype or motivation. It is a simple, human system to take control of your professional story and step into your next chapter with clarity and confidence.
